Today was our first teenage forest school. We solved many problems including how and where to put up the cargo net. We had fun using a compass and finding treasure.

I went to Gallows Hill Nature reserve to learn how to handle small mammals like wood mice, field voles and shrews. Using humane traps in the reserve to catch them. We opened the traps to find the sex, weight and health of these mammals. It was so exciting.

Although it rained the children had fun playing games, making dens, and toasting mashmallows on a fire. The canopy kept us dry.
