The year 4 pupils enjoyed learning about what to take with you in a rucksack in case you get stranded on an island. They are reading ‘Wild Robot’ which is a story about surviving in the wild. Amanda Panda from Chevin Forest School shared some first hand experiences of den building, fire making and whittling.
Amanda Panda Joined the Play In Team at Gateways School with a Forest School session. The dens were very creative with singing, names and zones. The children used their whittling skills to make bows and arrows and sticks. The treasure hunt was tricky for one group but they found it in the end.
A fabulous end to the year with the pre schoolers managing a Christmas bauble hunt in the woods. We had a big fire to cook the sausages for children and parents.
