We had fab fun with Amanda Panda We did lots of slope sliding. Then collected bilberries, wild raspberries and the odd apple. All were yummy and was completed by a hot dog. Our wildlife hunter Reece found a toad , frog, and grasshoppers while picking berries. Then we spotted fish in the pond. A wildlife frenzy today on the Chevin !
The KS2 Class had been inspired by their class reader ' Wolf Brother' to come to the Chevin woods to practice some of the things that happened and how people survived in the Mesolithic time.
We built dens , made bows and fires. We cooked and ate the food. A fabulous day had by all.
The group of Guides and their leaders explored Gallows Hill Nature reserve with Amanda Panda . We played a decision game to get us to the base came where I challenged them to group fire making. They all lit a fire so that they could cook, pancakes , brioche and marshmallows. We found n interesting nest a moth had created to protect the caterpillars.
