Thank you to all who attended , supported and joined in the fun this year. Here is to new adventures outdoors in 2018 .
We had laughs and excitement on the Chevin with Chevin Forest School. The children enjoyed eating marshmallow snowmen, with white chocolate and sprinkles. The Christmas star trail was fun . The children answered questions about nature in Winter and Christmas. WE made glittery decorations on wooden dics and pine cones.
Amanda Panda attended the 10th Otley Science Fair at the Courthouse. The children and families enjoyed chatting about the CFS activities, looking at the stuffed animals and making a bow or stick man.
The children and their families had fun making paper fireworks and stuffing the Guy Fawkes to burn on the fire. The firework treasure hunt led the children to the surprise. The toffee apples were just as popular and the sprinkles too.
The children had great fun drilling pumpkins, making mud pies and slipping down the mud slope. We had a big fire to melt white chocolate for the marshmallow ghosts. Then melted sugar and syrup for the toffee apples. The children then used sprinkles to finish them off.
The children enjoyed finding seeds, nuts and spiky shells to make faces and animals that are due to hibernate for the Winter.
We had fun designing and making Stick Man. Goggly eyes were popular and we held them and retold the story. The children enjoyed toasting the marshmallows over the fire.
Well we have fun at dusk and dark with the cubs tonight up on the Chevin. The children did orienteering with torches to find treasure ! Then built a huge rope swing in the trees.
Amanda Panda went along to the Gala organised by Parkinson's Park Friends. The Chevin Forest School had fun making stick men, bows and arrows, and wands with lots and lots of the local community of children from 2 years to 10 years old.
The children made some fabulous tools and sticks then decorated them. We did a bilberry and black berry hunt too, very yummy!
